Charles Strackbein
Charlie has over 25 years of pro-cannabis-related event planning & education experience. He started out planning special events, such as customer appreciation days, celebrity appearances and other brand marketing events for B.D.T. Smoke shops of Hazel Park, MI from 1996 - 2001 & 2011 - 2016 We are uniquely qualified to help you plan your next cannabis-related event from concept to asset evaluation, activation, and fulfillment Report (ROI).
In 2001 Charlie founded Creative Recreation, a Michigan non-profit to serve other pro-cannabis nonprofits, activists & volunteers, and created the special event to connect pro-cannabis enthusiasts with organizations that support their interests.
He has continued as its co-director & Impresario to this day. Charles has his hand in on all aspects of the event form event concepts, design, production, and marketing, with a special focus on sponsorship relationships & sales.
Monroe Street Fair
The Monroe Street Fair was founded in 2002 and is designed to complement the historic Ann arbor hash bash by providing a safe permitted space to gather for our annual Celebration & rituals. We celebrate our Cannabis culture, heritage & success.
Pro-cannabis enthusiasts have gathered at the hash bash for over 49 years and it has grown from a few thousand to over twenty thousand attendants. The Monroe street fair provides supporting Infrastructure such as road closures, restrooms, police, fire, emergency services, & environmental cleanup for hash bash, extends the events to 6 pm, adds a 4:20 countdown, live concert & over 50 exhibitors directly connecting with a highly concentrated market and their special Interests.
Here I speak of the 2020 Monroe Street Fair and cannabis tourism just 9 days before we canceled and postponed the event in light of the risks of the rapidly spreading pandemic.
